Crossfit Enhance Open House Announced!

Crossfit Enhance has been anticipating it’s new expansion for quite some time and would like to announce it’s Open House for Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 9-11am.  We want as many members who can make it to be there ready to help, serve, and WOD (of course).  So check your calendar and make plans to be here Sept. 25th.  More information to come…..

-SPECIAL EVENTS ANNOUNCEMENT-

As some of you may know, one of our trainers, Jason Danner, is preparing to compete in the inaugural USA Weightlifting/Crossfit Open in Colorado Springs on October 1-3. This national event will showcase some of the best Olympic weightlifters as well as crossfitters in the country. Being a national event comes with heavy costs. We invite you to a fundraiser to help alleviate some of the expenses that Jason will incur while traveling to Colorado. Jason will be performing a WOD on Saturday August 21, at 10am and the WOD will be “Death by Deadlifts & Burpees”.  You can either donate a flat amount or make things interesting by donating a certain amount per rep/round he is able to achieve. Let’s see if we can get him the $1000 he needs to be able to go. Come out and support sending Jason to Colorado to represent Crossfit Enhance. Every little bit helps and he thanks you in advance. Jason will also be running a WOD for anyone that shows up shortly after the Fundraiser. Bring your friends and introduce them to Crossfit. 24 Feet & 272 Pounds

Through 44 people thus far, the Challenge has reduced the hip and waist sizes of all the members by 24 feet (289 inches)!!!  And we have lost a combined total of 272 lbs.

Weekend WOD’s, Next Week Information & More

There will be a WOD on Saturday at 10am…  Instructor Choice, instructor is Jason Danner…

There will be a Basic Barbell Class on Sunday at 11am, limit 20 (good review going into next week)…  IF YOU DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE LAST STRENGTH BIAS ROTATION IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO COME TO THIS CLASS SO YOU ARE NOT BEHIND AND KNOW THE LIFTS…  ALSO IF YOU ARE RUSTY COME ON IN…  THERE WILL NOT BE MUCH LECTURE, BUT A LOT OF WORK UNDER THE BAR!!! If there is a demand for more, we may open up 10am…

Next week will be the return of the Strength Bias Cycle.  It has been since February that we did this last, and we saw tremendous results with it.  Remember the benefits of strength are numerous, the main being that strength drives all other components of physical fitness.  There was apprehension with weight lifting last time, with those that were concerned about getting “bigger” and those that just did not feel like lifting.  We understand those issues and have addressed that.

On a day when the Daily WOD has a strength lift and mini-WOD you have the option to not lift, but participate in the WOD.  If you want that option  YOU SHOULD NOT sign up on the scheduler, just write your name on the sheet upon arrival.  The reason being that we have a limit on lifters due to the racks.  If you are going to lift and do the WOD, then you MUST schedule via the scheduler so we do not overcrowd the facility.  If you are lifting you will be there are normal class time.  If you are just doing the WOD then you will need to arrive in time to warm up and ready to go when lifting has finished (20-30 min).

Along with that, next Thursdays registration has been canceled out…  That is because its the return of the 5K Row!!!  Yup we will be able to row 12 at a time on the half hour…  So rescheule if you have been canceled out!!!

(Update)Post Dietary Challenge Measurements & Picnic

Remember to bring a side dish of whatever you please (Cheescake is a good idea).  Also if you would like buns for your burgers you will have to bring your own.

There has been some interest in doing the post WOD on Friday, due to the Race for the Cure.  We will be having a test out slot on Friday at 3pm.  You may also come to the 12:15, 4 and 5p classes and test out as well on Friday.  Other arrangements can be made by emailing us…

Also there is a slight schedule change…  We will start the grills as soon as possible after the WOD…  With the help we will have we hope to have the WOD, measurements and pictures done by 11:30…  Bring your own drinks…  See you there…

Come get some grass-fed burgers after your measurements on the Post Challenge Measuerment & Picnic Day

June 26th…  Register so we can have enough beef…  (Enroll as unpaid if you get an error message)

June 5th Weekend…

All sorts of fun going on and around CrossFit Enhance this weekend.  Saturday is the CFBN Affiliate Competition where some of our members are taking part.  (Would love to hear from you after, in here, get pictures).

Also on Saturday will be a WOD at 10am, with Ken (there seems to be a lot of dirt outside).

On Sunday there will be a WOD at 11am with Ken again, and at 1pm there will be a Barbell/Power Lifting class.

Use the scheduler to get signed up, and see you this weekend…

We are going to be running some statistics on CF Enhance in the next few days and we really need all members to update their date of birth…  Anyone that has started within the last two elements does not have to worry about it, as it was required…  However EVERYONE should do the grouping categories…

Olympic Lift Technique Class & Memorial Day WOD

We are not having our usual WOD times on Monday in observance of Memorial Day…  However Jason D. will be having a WOD at 1pm that will be fitting for Memorial Day…  Sign up via the scheduler…

We will have our first Olympic Lift Technique Class this weekend.  Space is limited to 10 people per hour.  As classes fill up we will open more time slots, so scheduling is important.  This class will be lecture/lab of the Clean and Jerk and Snatch.

The following Sunday we will be having our second Barbell Technique class.  Space there is limited to 15/hour.  This class will be lecture/lab of the 5 barbell lifts (squat, press, bench, deadlift, power clean).

Long story but there is a band out of Nashville  called the Travis Mann Band that is the second generation of a band out of Memphis that I have followed about 5 years now. Dietary Challenge Message Board

This will be the place you can come journal, discuss, sympathize, and just be a community with the Dietary Challenge.  Everyone will need support and somewhere to “confess” without being judged.  Eventually this board will be available by clicking on the “CFE Dietary Challenge Journal” link under the Special Events category to the left.  Also you may use this for Public Refereeing …  Good Luck, everyone can do this!  80 82 83 85 Participants!!!

We would like to find out how many of you might be interested in pursuing a team from CrossFit Enhance for next year’s Affiliate Cup.
UPDATE: It looks as though the interest is there, but most will be out this weekend.  This issue is not “pressing” but one that we would like to get underway.  If we could all figure out a good time to meet, just for information that will be the start we need.  Email us with ideas, it could be evening, late evening, weekend, lunch…
