What an effort by the 5a group… 8 of the 11 were sprawled out on the floor at the conclusion!!! Also congrats to the following for their very first kipping pull ups today;
Jeff B.
Cindy H.
Baljit D.
Bryce O.

I was one of the 8 on the floor afterward. Dr. Tabata is truely a modern day sadist. Thanks to Patrick for helping me get the hang of kipping pullups. First time accomplishment for me.
I second the salute to the 5am class! Solid efforts, with almost no short-cutting form. Can’t be 100% perfect with that intensity, but you were all close!
Jeff B….great job on the kipping pulls! You were another who did achieve that today. I think Patrick (H.??) and Tim M. make the list as well…first kip for both of you, right? Great group this morning.
Unrelated blood cholesterol profile comment:
Do not be afraid of blood lipid issues while on the Paleo (or most any “low-carb”) lifestyle. I received my results last week (blood draw on 2-22-10) and they looked great, even after staying OFF a statin for a week. I do not intend to use that drug the rest of my life…
Anyway the break down was : Triglycerides 35 (Woo! GREAT!) HDL 73.9 (Very good!) LDL 118 (”near optimal”) Could be lower for LDL, according to “standare ranges”, but remmember not to have TOO much faith in that LDL number… it’s ESTIMATED. The important factors are LOW tri’s and HIGH HDL. It would be valuable to know LDL particle sizes, but i’m not certian how much such a test costs. SMALL LDL particles are BAD. Chances are, mine are mostly “large and fluffy”, based on other numbers I had.
All of my reading strongly supports calculated LDL is often misleading, inaccurate, and unimportant. NO grain, low carbs, LOTS of Saturated fats got me those nice scores, so fear not.
My glucose WAS 99 (less than 100 desirable). Disappointing, as I felt it should have been lower. Can not explain that.
Any thoughts?
